We are now asking for the dogs to give us attention before we ask them to do something with either 'ready' or 'watch'. This will get them paying attention even if there are things going on around them.
Heelwork is coming along nicely, we increased the distance and changed direction and got them to sit. A lot going on but everyone managed to keep their dogs with them. The important thing is to remember where you actually want your dog and keep your hand in that position.
We started to incorporate distractions into the 'come' and they were all amazing and I think every dog turned away from the distraction and went straight back to their owner, just remember to ask your dog to sit on return.
The intermediate's did some amazing heelwork. They individually weaved in and out of the other sitting dogs and the dogs doing the sitting did a great job too as they had to stay sitting whilst the dog past right in front and behind them. Would like to single out Rumer who managed to sit without any problems whilst all the dogs passed her which is such an improvement. The 'sit' and 'down' stays not only incorporated me distracting them by either walking past them or even talking to them but also the handlers this week did a little work out of their own by stepping to the left and right and in the down I pushed them even harder by making them jump to the left and right.
We also recalled two at a time and everyone achieved this, so well done.
